The FE Pay ballot opened on 6th January 2016 and closes on January 29th. UNISON is urging members to vote yes to both questions. If you don’t have your ballot paper yet, please phone UNISON Direct on 0800 0857857 Our claim to the employer is for a £1 per hour pay increase and a commitment to the living wage for all workers. The employers have ‘offered’ a 0% wage increase and no commitment to the living wage. 0% is not an offer, it’s an insult. In September 95% of members voted to reject the ‘offer’. FE workers have suffered pay restraint for the last 7 years – meanwhile the cost of living has increased by 17% in the last 5 years. Low pay awards are squeezing incomes and lowering living standards. The other Trade Unions have also rejected the derisory offer.
