Young workers need UNISON. UNISON needs young members.
If you are a member of UNISON and under the age of 30, you are considered a “Young Member” within the union.
For most of us being a young worker is a fantastic experience – a satisfying job, learning new skills, making money and new friends. Sadly, for many young people it just isn’t like that. Low pay, dangerous jobs, harassment, and bullying can make working a nightmare.
There are many opportunities for young people within UNISON at a branch, regional and national level, such as our regional Young Members committee, which offers young workers a chance to get involved in the union by campaigning around the issues commonly faced by young workers. This committee also offers an excellent social scene and serves as an ideal entry to activism for young workers. If you are under 30 and want to become active within UNISON, please contact the Branch Office.
