As you know. we are in negotiations with North Lanarkshire Council over the settlement of all equal pay claims. All the representatives with challenges against the current pay system are working together in the negotiations – UNISON, UNITE and Fox & Partners. Whilst this process has not been as swift as we would like, we believe it may be possible to achieve a settlement on your behalf.
We have tribunal dates in place for this month and we will not hesitate to return to the tribunal if we feel the Council are not genuine in their intentions at the negotiating table. Whatever we do we will seek to move in partnership with the other claimant groups for two reasons – to maximise our collective strength as claimants and to ensure fair and equal outcomes for all claimants.
As you will understand, we cannot put a time limit on when these negotiations will be complete, but we will do our very best to keep you all up to date as things progress. You have all been extremely patient so far, but we are doing our best to resolve the issues and ask that you bear with us in the meantime.
