Colleagues

We are sending another letter to you all today asking you to submit a further 2 letters to the Council. I have posted the text of the letter below which advises you what to do with the letters we send you.

This is part of our campaign for equal pay and it’s important that we maintain solidarity in the fight. We have had over 400 of you return your grievance slips and this was lodged last week. As more slips come in we are adding the names to the grievance. We can win this together.

Dear Member

EQUAL PAY CAMPAIGN – HOME SUPPORT

With reference to my previous letters and the members meetings of 12th, 13th, 14th May 2014, our campaign to ensure that your equal pay (and other colleagues in the Council) is paid out is now underway.

As part of the campaign I have attached two letters that should be sent back to the Council. One is a request for your job evaluation scores and the other is a freedom of information request asking how they obtained the information to score your job.

As before, all you need to do is add your name and address to the top right of each letter, date them underneath your address, and sign the bottom. You should then return them direct to the addresses on the letters.

As part of the campaign we have released a statement to the local and national press which can be viewed on our website (www.unisonnorthlan.org.uk) or Facebook page, and have organised an ad-trailer which will travel round the North Lanarkshire area from 2 June 2014.

Please remember, no-one can win this campaign for you, we need to stay committed, have solidarity, and be involved in the action that we recommend to you. Together we can make sure equal pay is paid out.

Yours sincerely

John Mooney
