Unison are aware that members have been called to meetings yesterday and today to tell them that their jobs may be at risk when councillors decide the budget on Monday.
For absolute clarity, Unison and the other trade unions were NOT given prior notice of these meetings or any indication of what posts are at risk as part of the budget setting. This situation is OUTRAGEOUS and we have expressed our anger and dismay to the leader of the council and the chief executive.
NLC have COMPLETELY FAILED in their duty to consult trade unions and shown complete contempt for their own staff. Our members deserve much, much better than this.
