You might remember that we submitted a Freedom of Information request to NLC a couple of months ago asking for the total paid to employees in sick pay, and the number of dismissals on capability/sustainability grounds.
The figures show 2 trends which were expected:-
1. That the cost of sickness in the Council is coming down.
2. That the Council has actively increased dismissals on capability grounds (almost doubling in 2 years), and is now dismissing more than 1 person every week through this method alone.
